Instructions for Patients
Report to the registration desk by 8:00–9:00 am.
Do not take any medication, alcohol or cigarettes in the morning.
Bring all past medical reports and prescriptions where recent medical as well as medication histories are recorded.
Bring your identification documents for registration (i.e. NID, Passport or Company letter).
Please wear loose and comfortable clothing as you may have to change clothes for X-Ray / Ultrasonogram.
Special Instructions
Fast completely for 10–12 hours before the test which requires fasting (you may drink only plain water).
Please take prior advice from your consultant if you are on Beta Blockers for High Blood Pressure management.
Please take other drugs that are not Beta Blockers as regular advice; if you are taking medication at night, continue to take at night; if taking in the morning, continue with plain water.
You may stop your Anti Diabetic medications on the day of your health screen. However, if you have Type 1 Diabetes and are on Insulin, please consult your doctor first.
Please maintain a regular lifestyle including food habit and avoid caffeinated drinks (coffee, tea) before OGTT and Stress Test.
If you are allergic to any radio-contrast material or have impaired kidney function, inform your consultant as CT Scan / MRI Scan may not be performed. If you have metallic objects in or on your body, please inform your consultant. Titanium implants are allowed.
If you are taking blood thinners and going for Endoscopy / Colonoscopy, please consult your cardiologist prior to procedure. You may need to stop medication to prevent excessive bleeding when polyps are removed or biopsies are taken.
Special Instructions for Women
Pregnant women or those expecting pregnancy are advised to consult the doctor before undergoing X-Ray / Mammogram.
Urine, Stool and Pap smear tests should be done at least 5 days after period to avoid contamination. Tumour markers should not be done during menstruation.
